Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 4 November 2025
Ordent Lab is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and follow best practices used by Australian public-sector digital services.
1. Our Commitment
We design and build our website with accessibility in mind from the start. This includes structure, typography, coding practices, and visual design choices that make the experience usable for as many people as possible.
Accessibility is part of our design and engineering process, not an afterthought.
2. Standards We Follow
We aim to meet the following standards:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA
- Australia’s Digital Service Standard (DSS) accessibility principles
- W3C best practice for semantic HTML and ARIA usage
3. Measures We Take
To support accessibility, we:
- Use clean, semantic HTML markup
- Ensure sufficient color contrast across the website
- Support keyboard navigation for interactive components
- Use consistent layout, labels, and headings
- Avoid relying solely on color to convey meaning
- Provide descriptive alt text for meaningful images
- Structure content to be screen-reader friendly
4. Known Limitations
We continuously work to improve accessibility, but some areas may still need enhancement, such as:
- Third-party embed elements (e.g., external videos or social widgets)
- PDFs or legacy documents provided by clients
- Some decorative or legacy assets that may not include ARIA labels
We will update these areas as part of our ongoing improvements.
5. Testing
Our accessibility checks include:
- Keyboard-only navigation testing
- Screen reader compatibility checks (NVDA, VoiceOver)
- Color contrast testing using WCAG tools
- Manual code reviews for headings, labels, and roles
6. Feedback
If you encounter accessibility issues, barriers, or have suggestions, please contact us. We take feedback seriously and will work to resolve issues promptly.
Email us at: hello@ordent.co
7. Requesting Accessible Formats
If you need content in an alternative format (e.g., plain text, large print, accessible PDF), please let us know and we will provide it as quickly as possible.
8. Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing process. As we update the design, content, and structure of the site, we will continue auditing and improving accessibility features and compliance.
